San Diego County may be better known in other parts of the world for its spirit of collaboration than it is at home. It can be difficult - amidst the challenges and hard work that each of us confront on a daily basis - to take a step back and realize just how far we have come.

There are after school programs serving children and youth in more than 300 sites in San Diego County. Mentoring programs and organizations, who never used to communicate, now gather on a regular basis to share best practices and support each other. Organizations and individuals concerned with issues of juvenile justice are working together to fill gaps in service needs and to comprehensively address juvenile delinquency prevention.
